Magnificient gallery of pictures
The online picture-collection of the Mill Museum
The Society of Zaan Mills is in the possession of a magnificent collection of historical material which is accessible by means of an online picture-gallery.
This is a survey of the materials that can be viewed:
- A collection of large and special photographs and picture postcards.
- Thousands of (mill) building and construction drawings.
- Unique old pictures and prints.
- An archive of cuttings about the history of the Zaan mills from the year 1900 until now.
The Ohlen collection
By way of an introduction take a glimpse at the pictures of the Ohlen collection and other examples of the gallery. This wil provide a good idea of the extent of the gallery.
Who are the participants?
The most professional part of the project – digitalising the collections – is executed by Pictura Database Publishing at Heiloo, Holland. Visit their website at www.pictura-im.nl .
Moreover an enthousiastic group of volunteers imported the subscriptions to the collections. For this reason it is no longer necessary to refer to the albums themselves as the images are now preserved for futural consultation.
